During male ejaculation the fluid that is released is semen and in it there is sperm and maybe sugars and proteins. Semen analyses tries to measure some factors of a male's sperm. The factors that are measured include; the number of sperm, the shape of the sperm and the movement of the sperm which is the movement of the sperm. One test is not enough. To get a good idea of the sperm's health the doctor will often conduct two or three tests and take an average. The tests should at least be conduct seven days apart in the course of two or three months.  After this the samples will give the most conclusive answer.

 

Mostly many people might wonder why there is need to carry out sperm test on phone. It is important to carry out sperm count test when couples are having problems getting a child. In fact it is usually recommended at such a time. It helps a doctor know whether it is the man with the problem or not. It helps them know if the man is infertile. The sperm count will also determine whether low sperm or sperm dysfunction is the reason behind the infertility. It is also recommended for men who have undergone vasectomy to ensure that in their semen there is no sperm.

The test should be carried out within 30 to 60 minutes after the semen leaves the body. There are many factors that can interfere with test and they include; contamination of the sample, taking the test when ill or stressed and maybe sperm getting into contact with spermicide. The results can be normal with the correct shape, pH, appearance, sperm count and the correct movement. They can also be abnormal and this may indicate infertility, gene defects or infection.
